Abstract
The enzymes phosphohexose isomerase (PHI) and aliesterase (ALS) were studied in the serum of 60 patients of head and neck cancer and four cancer suspect patients. Their levels were found to be altered in all the cancer patients, maximally in oral cancer with cervical metastases. This study was more informative in ulcerative growths and in patients with cervical metastases. The false positive responses of this study were minimum.
