Abstract

The dizziness therapy consisted of graduated stimulation of the labyrinth with ice-cold water. This treatment is effective due to habituation and tolerance of the nervous system. It was tried in cases of vestibular ototoxicity due to Streptomycin. The dizziness therapy succeeded in 80 percent of the cases of vertigo. Dizziness induced in a graded artificial manner, instilled self-confidence in the remaining 20 percent cases who were then in a better position to face the ‘real’ dizziness when it occurred again.
