Abstract
Dizziness is a common and distressing presentation in general practice. In more than half of these cases, the dizziness is due to vertigo, which is the illusion of movement of the body or its surroundings. It can have peripheral or central causes, and determining the underlying cause can be difficult. The objective of this chapter is to provide a clear review of the main causes of dizziness and vertigo.
