A protargol technique for the impregnation of cutaneous nerves

  • Published:
Irish Journal of Medical Science (1926-1967)

Summary

The various known silver techniques for nerve fibres are classified into three groups. In the first a single silver salt is used. In the others two silver salts are used; these groups differ from each other in the sequence of staining.

Methods from each of the three groups were used to stain cutaneous nerve fibres. A modification of the second group was devised; it appears to give uniform and consistent staining of these axons.
