Summary
1. The results of a survey of nasal carriers of staphylococcus among nurses and other members of the staffs of a general hospital, a maternity hospital and a children’s hospital are reported.
2. Thein vitro sensitivities of the strains isolated to penicillin, streptomycin, chloramphenicol, erythromycin, chlortetracycline, oxytetracycline and tetracycline are recorded and the variations in the patterns in the three hospitals are described.
3. The implications of the results are briefly discussed.
