Primary cryoglobulinaemia—a case report

Summary

The term “Cryopathy” can be applied to any pathological process associated with or produced by cold; “Cryoglobulins” being those proteins having the common property of precipitating or gelifying from cooled serum.

The serum of this case, a 14 month old female child produced on cooling both precipitation and gel formation. The presenting signs were, gangrene of the tips of the lateral four toes of both feet which settled with conservative treatment.

A brief discussion and a note on treatment is also included. No similar case in this age group could be found in the literature.
