Summary

It was found that the amount of antigen and the time for which it is administered are factors equally important as temperature in antibody formation in frogs.

Antibodies obtained in frogs were localized by means of electrophoresis on starch in the β and γ-globulin serum protein fraction. It was found that the molecular species in frog serum and in the γ-globulin fraction are approximately the same as in mammalian sera, although the amount of the heavy component, 18 S, appears to be slightly greater. Frog heteroagglutinins exposed to mercaptoethanol do not lose their activity.

It was found that frog immune heteroagglutinins are completely specific in relation to the erythrocytes of other species.
