Conray inguinal herniography

Summary

Conray inguinal herniography has been carried out in 20 patients with congenital inguinosacrotal swellings admitted to the K.G.M. & Associated Hospitals, Lucknow. Five patients out of these, who had a unilateral hernia on clinical examination, were found to have a patent processus vaginalis on the contralateral side. Surgical exploration of these cases on both sides confirmed the herniographic findings. The operative closure of the patent processus at the same time as repair of the manifest hernia, saved a second operation in these patients. It is a safe, simple and useful investigation.
