Summary
In this paper we examine the status of theories which claim to place bounds on energy levels and widths of autoionizing states of atoms. It is found that the situation is most unsatisfactory and the claims lack substance. A new bound for the widths is proposed.

In questo articolo si esamina lo stato attuale delle teorie che pretendono di porre dei limiti ai livelli di energia e alle ampiozze degli stati autoionizzauti degli atomi. Si trova che la situazione è molto insoddisfacente e le pretese mancano di fondamento. Si propone un nuovo limite per le ampiezze.
