Summary
A formula for K−-nucleus scattering lengths is derivedà la Fubini-Furlan from current algebra and PCAC. From a fit to kaonic atom and scattering data we estimate Σ0(KN)≃ (512 ± 101) MeV and Σ1 (KN)⩽ 78 MeV, consistent with very small nonstrange “current” quark masses.
