Conclusions

Experiments have shown that bordeaux applied at 400 pounds pressure is more effective than when applied at either 200 or 600 pounds. A pressure between 300 and 400 pounds is considered the most effective pressure for potato spraying.

In Ohio good grades of hydrated lime have proved just as good for making bordeaux mixture as stone lime. Hydrated lime is more convenient to use and practically all growers in Ohio are using it with satisfactory results.

Two years’ tests with a high magnesium lime indicate that this lime may prove just as satisfactory for the preparation of bordeaux mixture as a high calcium lime.
