Scattering by potentials with Coulomb Tails

Summary

An earlier study of the Coulomb partial-wave series and of the connection between screened and unscreened Coulomb potentials is extended to potentials made up of a Coulomb potential plus an arbitrary short-range part Vs.r(r). The partial-wave series for the contribution of Vs.r is shown to converge pointwise, for all θ, provided Vs.r is O(r-3-8) asr → ∞.

Si estende un precedente studio sullo serie di onde parziali di Coulomb e sulla connessione fra potenziali di Coulomb schermati e non schermati al caso di potenziali costituiti da un Potenziale di Coulomb più una parte a corto raggio arbitrariaV s.r.(r). Si trova che la serie di onde parziali per il contributoV s.r. converge puntualmente, per ogni θ, purchéV s.r. siaO(r -3-ε) per r→∞.

Исследование парциа льного кулоновского ряда и связь между экр анированным и неэкранированным к улоновскими потенци алами обобщаются на случай потенциалов, состоящ их из кулоновского по тенциала плюс произвольная ко роткодействующая часть Vs.r.(r). Показывается , что ряд по парциальны м волнам для вклада Vs.r. является схо дящимся для всех θ, при условии, что Vs.r. представляет O(r-3-8), когда r →∞.
