Abstract
Ischaemic heart disease represents failure of medical care. There is as yet, no proof that the established disease can be reversed or cured. The approach should be its prevention. Advising control of risk factors to patients of manifest ischaemic heart disease is like putting the cart before the horse, prevention of ischaemic heart disease if it is to be effective must start in childhood. It is the pediatricians’ responsibility to see that the child is free from the risk of future diseases as well.
