The deuteronD/S ratio and quadrupole moment: a quantitative example of pion physics

  • Published:
Il Nuovo Cimento A (1965-1970)

Summary

It is demonstrated that the deuteronD/S ratio and quadrupole moment are strongly OPEP dominated. Corrections to this picture are nearly model independent. The analysis indicates strongly a pointlike\(\pi {\mathcal{N}}{\mathcal{N}}\) coupling. The investigation provides the most quantitative demonstration of pionic effects in nuclear physics.
