Summary
We report on a measurement of the ratio of the strong coupling constant αs (M Z 0) for various data samples with different quark flavour compositions obtained from e+e− annihilations at LEP. We obtain the following results for the relative value of αs:α bs /α udscs =1.017±0.036, α cs /α udsbs =0.926±0.089, α ss /α udchs =1.158±0.164, α udss /α cbs =1.024±0.085, with quadratically combined statistical and systematic errors. We do not find any dependence of the strong coupling constant on flavour.
