New results on spectroscopy from BENKEI

Summary

New results on meson spectroscopy at KEK are presented. Experimental data on the reaction π-p→ηπ-p at 6.3 GeV/c have been collected by the Benkei spectrometer at the 12 GeV proton synchrotron to the aim of searching forIJ PC=11−+ states in the ηπ- system. A marked forward-backward asymmetry of the events is observed in the Gotffired-Jackson frame of the ηπ- system. The result of the partial-wave analysis shows a clear bump of theP + wave around 1320 MeV/c2. Checks for the result and the analysis are discussed.
