Summary

Several tests that have been proposed to determine the various components (nonstrange, strange and gluonic) of the pseudoscalar mesons η-η-ι are briefly reviewed. The constraints provided by these tests do not allow an unambiguous determination of the strange components of the η and ι mesons. It is suggested that this would follow from the experimental measurement of the branching ratios BR(F±→ηπ±) and BR(F±→ιπ±). The decay F±→ιπ±, in particular, would be crucial to understand the physical nature of the ι-meson or, differently stated, to establish (or to disprove) the validity of the η-η-ι mixing.

Si discutono brevemente i vari criteri che sono stati suggeriti per la determinazione delle varie componenti (non-strana, strana e gluonica) dei mesoni pseudoscalari η-η-ι. I vincoli forniti da questi criteri non permettono una determinazione sicura delle componenti strane in η e ι. Si suggerisce che tale determinazione sicura si avrebbe dalla misura sperimentale dei rapporti di decadimento BR(F±→ηπ±) e BR(F±→ιπ±). Il decadimento F±→ιπ±, in particolare, sarebbe cruciale per capire la natura fisica del mesone ι o, detto, in maniera diversa, per confermare o negare la validità dello schema di mescolamento η-η-ι.

Вкратце обсуждаются некоторые эксперименты, которые были предложены для определения различных компонент (нестранных, странных и глюонных) псевдоскалярных мезонов η-η-ι.
