Experimetal measurement of the director orientation at the free surface of a nematic liquid crystal

Summary

An experimental technique, which allows improved measurements of the director orientation at the free surfaces of a nematic liquid crystal, is described. The better accuracy of our technique is tested by measuring the director orientation at the free surface of PAA.
