Summary
This paper shows that, for a function having the same analytic properties as the hadronic part of the vacuum polarizationII(s), the requirement of monotonic asymptotic decrease of the «generalizedn-momenta» at real negatives values generates nontrivial links between the behaviour at finites and that at asymptotic physicals values. In particular, an inequality relates the integral of ImII over the data region to that over the remaining physical region. It is proposed that this inequality is considered at very smalln values,n≪1. For such values it seems plausible in the framework of quantum chromodynamics to transform the inequality into a numerical upper bound for the asymptotic value ImII(∞). An approximate numerical evaluation is given, showing that such a bound is meaningful, particularly if one wishes to investigate the possibility that more than five constituent quarks exist.
