Abstract

This is the most “useful” paper by Källén. It is written in collaboration with Sabry (see also the contribution by Sabry in PART II). Its result is used not only in quantum electrodynamics but also in other areas such as quantum chromodynamics, atomic physics and exotic atoms, whenever precision is required. In atomic physics, the correction due to the fourth order is treated as an effective potential called Källén-Sabry potential.
