Summary
Angular distributions of alpha-particles at several energies,E α=(21÷85.6) MeV from a number of nuclei between20Ni and119Sn, extending to wide angular range up to ∼160° in some cases, have been analyzed in terms of three-parameter strong-absorption model of Frahn and Venter. Interaction radius and surface diffuseness are obtained from the parameter values rendering the best fit to the elastic-scattering data. The inelastic scattering of alpha-particles from a number of nuclei leading to quadrupole and octupole excitations has also been studied giving the deformation parameters ß L .
