Conclusion
No attempt has been made in this paper to cover either all the problems met with in a neo-natal department, or to provide facts and figures relating to the neonate. Only those conditions with which we have come into frequent contact on the wards have been dealt with and personal observations and experience gained in dealing with these problems have been mentioned. It is hoped that the information given will help to point out the importance of the neo-natal period and the direct bearing of the period in utero on neonatal life. If the material presented stimulates at least one person here today to discover for himself more about this fascinating period of child-life, then the purpose of writing the paper will have been more than fulfilled.
