Pomeron propagator in position space

  • Published:
Il Nuovo Cimento A (1965-1970)

Summary

A wave-mechanical description is given of the geometrical properties which underlie the so-called (nonplanar, orientable) one-loop amplitude in dual-resonance models. The description is made in such a way that the amplitude appears as an extension of the conventional Feynman propagator, hence being regarded as a “pomeron” propagator. As an incidental result, the Virasoro condition for one-loop amplitudes is obtained as well as its geometrical implication.
