Summary
The charmonium decay problem is re-examined by using effective strong-coupling constant for timelikeQ 2, analytically continued from that for spacelikeQ 2. Some discrepancies between theory and experiment are noted and resolved by introducing nonzero effective mass for the gluons in thes-channel. Also carried out is an analysis by using the next-to-leading-order formula for αs.

Il problema dei decadimenti del charmonio è riesaminato, utilizzando una costante di accoppiamento forte efficace perQ 2 tipo tempo, continuata analiticamente da quella perQ 2 tipo spazio. Alcune discrepanze tra teoria ed esperimento sono messe in evidenza e risolte, introducendo una massa efficace diversa da zero per i gluoni nel canales. Viene pure svolta un'analisi del problema utilizzando per la costante d'accoppiamento una formula all'ordine superiore.
