Abstract

Alumosilicate refractories in the Al2O3-SiO2 system of kaolin, mullite-silica and mullite-alumina compositions are studied. The kinetic and temperature dependencies of the variation of their properties under the effect of additives, admixtures and thermocycling in oxidizing and reducing gas media are described. It is shown that the liquid phase that actively responds to the variation of the gas medium plays an important role in the variation of the properties of refractories in their shaping and service.
