Abstract

The effect of rapid crystallization of the melt on the structure and properties of eutectics in the systems A12O3 — ZrO2(Y2O3 ) and 3 A12O3 · 2SiO2 — ZrO2(Y2O3 ) is investigated. Their evolution after heat treatment in a wide temperature range is considered. Rapid crystallization of melts provides materials with a highly homogeneous and highly disperse structure that promise to give oxide structural ceramics with high mechanical properties.
