Bioassay techniques: Problems concerning the selectivity and sensitivity of determining biologically active substances

Abstract

A new biochemical approach was developed in order to improve the selectivity and sensitivity of determining biologically active substances. This approach is based on changes in the biological activity of analytes in the course of sample preparation. Other techniques for solving the above problem, namely, an increase in the temperature of the test solution temperature or the use of solvent extraction, bioaccumulation, and unusual analytical procedures are also considered.
