A note on killing tensors in vacuum space-times

Summary

Killing tensors on a Riemannian manifold are interpreted as generators of Jacobi fields along arbitrary geodesics. The explicit form of these generators for an order p ⩽ 2 is investigated in the case of vacuum space-times.
