The phase transition of a superconductor

Summary

The superconducting phase transition in the absence of an external field is shown to be one of second order with zero latent heat, even if the self-energy effects, due to phonon emission and absorption, are included in the BCS theory of superconductivity.

Si dimostra che la transizione di fase superconduttrice in assenza di campo esterno è di secondo ordine con calore latente nullo, anche se nella teoria della superconduttività di BCS si includono gli effetti dell’autoenergia, dovuti all’emissione ed all’assorbimento di fononi.
