Note on the structure of particle-mixture interaction

Summary

The diagonalization problem of a simple particle-mixture interaction between two fermion- and boson-fields with equal masses is considered. This problem is equivalent to that of expressing state-vectors of a field (massm) by superposing state-vectors of another field (mass m’ nem). The mathematical structure of this problem is investigated according to Ezawa’s discussion (5), and will be shown to be equivalent to those appearing in Mambu’s theory. As the masses of primary fermionfields can be set equal to zero and then the total Lagrangian becomes invariant under a kind of Touschek transformation, it is seen that the particle-mixture theory is a very simple example of getting nonzero masses from a γ6-invariant Lagrangian.

Si studia il problema della diagonalizzazione di una semplice interazione di mescolanza di partioelle fra due campi fermionici e due campi bosonici con masse uguali. Questo problema è equivalente a quello di esprimere i vettori di stato di un campo (massa m) con la sovrapposizione di vettori di stato di un altro campo (massa m’ ≥ m) Si esamina la struttura natematica di questo problema secondo la discussione di Ezawa (5), e si dimostra che è equivalente a quelli apparsi nella teoria di Nambu. Poichè le masse dei campi fermionici primari possono essere poste uguale a zero ed allora illagrangiano totale di venta invariante rispetto ad un tipo di trasformazione di Touschek si vede che la teoria della mescolanza di particelle è un semplicissimo esempio di come si ottengono masse non nulle da un lagrangiano invariante in γ5.
