Influence of the impact parameter on the heavy-ion fusion process

  • Published:
Lettere al Nuovo Cimento (1971-1985)

Summary

A simple interpretation of the existence of a l-window in complete fusion reactions between heavy ions is suggested. The dependence of the calculated impact parameters leading to fusion vs. Vrel/C exhibits strong analogies with the findings in the collision of two water droplets.
