Summary

In the present paper experimental results are presented on the statistics of the intensity fluctuations of a laser beam propagated through the atmosphere. It is shown that, on account of the nonlinearity of the detecting system, the non-log-normality of the revealed signal is not an evidence against the log-normality of the incident beam.
