Bosonization of conformal ghosts in Witten’s string theory

Summary

We formulate Witten’s proposal of a covariant open-string theory in terms of oscillator modes and show that some basic axioms for the noncommutative geometry are obeyed as algebraic operations, which were defined previously from a geometrical point of view. Our strategy is based on the proper bosonization of the conformal ghost fields.

Si formula la proposta di Witten di una teoria covariante di stringa aperta in termini di modi oscillatori e si mostra che alcuni assiomi di base della geometria non commutativa sono rispettati come operazioni algebriche, definite in precedenza da un punto di vista geometrico. La nostra strategia si basa sull’adeguata bosonizzazione dei campi fantasma conformi.
