Forward production of photons from 9 GeV π-p interactions

Summary

As a preliminary part of an experiment designed to detect the peripheral production of γ-rays in high energy π-p interactions, we report a measurement of the background of photons from π⁰, at very small angles, in the collision of 8.9 GeV/c π⁻-mesons with H₂ and C.
