Polarization of the internal conversion electrons accompanying β-decay

  • Published:
Il Nuovo Cimento (1955-1965)

Summary

The correlation of the polarization of the conversion electrons and the velocity of the electrons emitted in a previous allowed β-decay transition is considered. In the magnetic multipole case the polarization is longitudinal and energy independent if we neglect the influence of the nuclear Coulomb field. In the electric multipole case exist as well longitudinal as transversal polarization, both depending on the electron energy.
