Experiments on the reinterpretation of quantum mechanics: Corrections and new ideas

Summary

A corrected and updated discussion of experiments concerning the Everett-Wheeler interpretation of quantum mechanics continues to contradict conventional phenomenology. «Realism» requires hidden-variable theories, or the hypothesis that the world of our observations is embedded in a higher-dimensional space. Everett's approach, applied naively to ordinary quantum field theory formalisms, yields an absurd model of such embedment; however, Schwinger's source theory formalism allows a plausible model with other calculational advantages. More general statistical tools are a prerequisite to theoretical progress in this area and in topics (negative-energy particles and superweak interactions) of potential technological importance.

Bizarre misconceptions about the publishers of this journal have become very widespread in the past few centuries, because of the heterogeneous quality both of their members and of those who observe it as outsiders.
