Automatic conservation law and gauge invariance in space-time with torsion potential

Summary

In a theory of gravitation with propagating torsion and a torsion potential, it is shown that the Bianchi identity along with the field equations is equivalent to the Noether identity derived from the Lagrangian. It is also shown how the gauge invariance of the torsion tensor is a necessary ingredient in this proof.
