Summary
The Fokker-Planck equation describing the steady-state transport of galactic particles into the interplanetary medium is integrated numerically and conditions for the time variation of the solar modulation during 1965–1968 are presented. Assuming a spherically symmetric geometry we consider the diffusion coefficient to be expressed byK(r, P, t)=K 1(r, t)K2(P, t). The radial dependence ofK 1 and the rigidity dependence ofK 2 is discussed in order to explain the modulation for all types of galactic particles considered. The calculated modulation parameters and near-Earth spectra are shown; they seem to be in satisfactory agreement with the relative experimental data.
