Electromagnetic form factors of the nucleon in a quark model

Summary

The electromagnetic form factors of the nucleon are evaluated in the infinite-momentum frame using a relativistic generalization of the staticSU ₆-scheme. The complications due to the concrete treatment of the spin are avoided by assumingad hoc cut-off functions. One obtains the scaling property of the Sachs form factorsG _E(q ²)/G _M(q ²) →ct asq ² → ∞. The asymptotic behaviour of the form factors strongly reflects the form of the cut-off function.SU ₆-like results are also obtained in the static limit with free quarks.

Si calcolano i fattori di forma elettromagnetici del nucleone nel sistema di impulso infinito impiegando una generalizzazione relativistica dello schemaSU ₆ statico. Si evitano le complicazioni dovute al trattamento concreto dello spin assumendo funzioni di taglioad hoc. Si ottiene la proprietà di « scaling » dei fattori di formaG _E(q ₂)/G _M(q ²) di Sachs tendenti act perq ² → ∞. Il comportamento asintotico dei fattori di forma rispecchia fortemente la forma della funzione di taglio. Si ottengono anche risultati di tipoSU ₆ nel limite statico con quark liberi.

В системе бесконечного импульса вычисляются злектромагнитные форм-факторы нуклона, испольэуя релятивистское обобшение статической схемыSU ₆. Усложнения, обусловленные конкретным рассмотрением спина, удается иэбежать эа счет предположения для данного случая функций обреэания. Получается свойство подобия для форм-факторов СаксаG _E(q ²)/G _M(q ²) →ct, когдаq ²→∞. Асимптотическое поведение форм-факторов сильно эависит от формы функции обреэания. В стати-ческом пределе со свободными кварками получаются реэультаты, сходные сSU ₆.
