Il Nuovo Cimento A (1965-1970)

Summary

A study on the f0 resonance production and decay in two experiments of π+d at 5.1 and 9 GeV/c is reported. The results are interpreted with the aid of Wolf’s modified OPE model.

  14. The parameter of asymmetryA=(FB)/(F+B) is equal 0.11 ± 0.03 and 0.01 ± 0.02 at 5 and 9 GeV/c, respectively. The small value at 5.1 GeV/c can be due to an isobar production which contributes to the cos θππ ∼ 1.0 region (9). In any case the symmetry in the distributions seems to reject the hypothesis of the presence of odd waves (P).
