Summary
Covariant density matrices for free particles are written in terms ofD (j.0)⊕D(0,j)spinors and it is shown that they can be expanded in terms of the covariant matrices of the corresponding representation. The tensor indices of these matrices are contracted with the tensor indices of the four tetrad vectors and the coefficients (which are linear combinations of the probabilitiesW r)have been determined for spin 1/2, 1 and 3/2.
