On the frozen polarization of electroluminescent phosphors

Summary

We studied the decay of the frozen polarization of electroluminescent cells previously excited with a pulsed voltage, ascertaining that such a decay is ruled out by a kinetic equation of an order close to 2. The measured thermal activation energy of the process was found to be near 0.10 eV. Arguments are advanced which discredit, on the grounds of the present experimental results, the double injection model for the electroluminescence.
