Summary
Roentgenologic changes in the early stages of ulcerative colitis in patients less than 20 years of age are described. Lesions appearing in patients below the age of puberty differed in distribution, and in the clinical course, from those appearing in adolescents. They also differed clearly from those of Crohn’s disease. Healing of extensive lesions was observed, and the prognosis was not found to be related to the initial extent of the disease.
