Conclusions

The measurement error of the above method does not depend on the Q-factor of the quartz resonator nor on its frequency, which makes it applicable in any frequency or Q-factor range, whereas other methods are restricted in their application either by their minimum decay time or by their minimum bandwidth.

Knowing the Q-factor, the equivalent resistance and the frequency of the quartz resonator, it is possible to calculate its equivalent inductance and dynamic capacitance. Thus, the above circuit makes it possible to determine all the parameters of a quartz resonator equivalent circuit.
