Summary
The present paper describes the American dry method, the Czechoslovak glueless dry method, and the semi-dry method for the production of fibreboard, and gives an evaluation of these methods as compared to the wet process. This comparative evaluation is concerned with the following factor, water economy, raw material, and glues, technological problems, quality and type of fibreboard, and some technical and economic aspects of production. Summarizing, it can be said that the semi-dry process does not eliminate the problem of waste waters and, therefore, cannot have a promising future. Due to recent improvements in the technological and machinery field, there are very good prospects for the dry process to gain in importance equal to the wet process.
