Abstract
Can jet fuel be made less hazardous in the event of an aircraft crash, and if so, how? The FAA is investigating the use of gels to reduce the flammability and flame spread rate of such fuel. Here, the author tells what has been done and what is being done. He includes the conclusions drawn from an early segment of the program.
