Summary
If a designed or already existing elastomechanical system does not satisfy the dynamic requirements, it has to be modified. The task of modification is solved here by formulating an optimization problem, introducing subsystems and linearized design variables. Various formulations of the problem and of the aim are discussed and the results are theoretically compared with one another as far as possible. The applied objective functions originate in system identification and (limited) experience is existent concerning these functions.
