Abstract
The heat absorption and the attendant thermal and mechanical stressing of a solar heated receiver depend predominantly on the flux distribution of the incident solar radiation. A procedure for analysing this flux distribution on the receiver internal surfaces is presented for a cavity receiver with a parabolic dish collector. First the theoretical principles are discussed followed by a description of the effects of the most important geometrical parameters on the insolation pattern with reference to an example.
