Abstract

An investigation has been made of higher-order effects in137m Ba decay. Double decay of the isomeric state137m Ba has been demonstrated with the emission of a γ photon and a conversion electron. The probability of this effect relative to that of ordinary conversion is T/T c =(7.3±0.9)·10−5. The results of the measurements and calculations are discussed.
