Mn(5−n)/2HnPMOV2 as re-oxidant of palladium(II) in solid Wacker catalysts

Abstract

Managanese salts of heteropoly acids (HPA) containing molybdenum and vanadium as poly atoms appeared to be active co-catalysts of palladium(II) in heterogeneous Wacker systems employed for ethene to acetaldehyde oxidation. The ethene conversion and the catalyst lifetime depend on the number of HPA protons replaced with Mn2+ cations.
